Imagine this: you are standing in a store, need to show a warranty receipt, but have no signal. Or you are abroad without mobile data and need an insurance document. With DigiDoklad, this is never a problem — your saved documents are always available, even offline.
Offline access to documents is not a luxury. It is a necessity for anyone who wants their files truly at hand — anytime and anywhere.
What is offline mode in DigiDoklad
DigiDoklad lets you save selected receipts and documents for offline access. This means the document is securely downloaded directly to your device — whether you use a phone, tablet, or computer.
Offline documents:
- are available without internet
- remain visible even after automatic logout
- stay encrypted and protected
- take up minimal space on your device
How to save a document for offline access
The whole process has two steps and takes a few seconds:
Step 1 — Download the document offline
1. Open your document or receipt list
2. Find the crossed-out WiFi icon next to the document — this means the document is not yet saved offline
3. Click this icon
4. The document downloads and saves securely to your device
Step 2 — Document is pinned
After a successful download, the icon automatically changes to a green pin icon (📌). This means the document is now:
- stored locally on your device
- pinned for offline access
- available anytime, even without internet
The document is saved in your browser secure storage (IndexedDB). Data is encrypted and accessible only from your account.
Where to find the offline feature in the app
The offline feature is available in all main sections of DigiDoklad:
- Personal documents — table and card view
- Business documents — business document overview
- Document detail — on every document page
The icons are easy to recognize:
- Gray crossed-out WiFi icon = document is not offline, click to download it
- Green pin icon (📌) = document is saved offline and pinned
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
Yes. DigiDoklad works as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that you can add to your home screen. Offline documents are fully available on iOS devices too.
Additionally, DigiDoklad automatically requests persistent storage so iOS Safari does not delete your offline data even after extended inactivity. This is crucial — without this protection, iOS could wipe your local data after 7 days of inactivity.
DigiDoklad automatically protects your offline data from deletion — even on iOS, where browsers commonly clear local storage after a week of inactivity.
What happens after automatic logout
Many users ask: "If the app logs me out automatically, will I lose my offline documents?"
No. Automatic logout (configurable in your account settings) does not delete your locally stored documents. After logging back in, all pinned files will be exactly where you left them.
Security is maintained:
- each user has their own isolated cache
- when a different user signs in, the previous cache is automatically cleared
- data is encrypted and unreadable without authentication
Which documents are worth saving offline
We recommend saving documents you might need unexpectedly and without warning:
- warranty receipts for expensive electronics
- insurance policies (travel, car, home)
- vehicle documents (registration, green card)
- receipts for recent purchases
- contracts with energy suppliers
- medical reports and vaccination records
You do not need to save everything. Save what you might need in situations without internet — while traveling, in a store, or at the doctor.
Security of offline data
Offline documents in DigiDoklad are protected by multiple layers:
- End-to-end encryption — documents are stored encrypted
- User isolation — each account has separate storage
- Automatic cleanup — old data is removed when switching accounts
- Persistent storage — protection against accidental browser deletion
How to remove a document from offline mode
Removing is just as easy:
1. Find the document with the green pin icon (📌)
2. Click it — the document is removed from local storage
3. The icon changes back to the crossed-out WiFi
4. The online version remains unchanged
